the real important stuff
APPEARANCE»»» face claim - seychelles , hetalia
Cassie stands at 5’4 in height and weighs about 116 pounds which is a little less than the target weight a young woman of her height should weigh. She certainly has a womanly figure, and though she has a toned and slender stomach from her exercise of walking and swimming, she certainly has hips and breasts which make her body a little on the curvy side. Her skin is lightly tanned from her travels and from the fact she spent a lot of time of her past outside during the sunny weather, she doesn’t burn after being out in the sun, only tans which explains her skin colour. Cassie’s eyes are a toffee brown with hints of darker and lighter flecks within them, her fringe is always made sure to be cut or swept out the way so the strands don’t get in the way of her eyes. When it comes to her hair, it’s a rather plain brunette colour however she makes sure to keep it conditioned and therefore the brunette strands are glossy and soft. She often styles her hair in two bunches tied up with red ribbons simply to give it a bit of colour and uniqueness, plus it keeps her hair out the way of being tangled in branches and things. If not in bunches, her hair reaches down somewhere close to the small of her back, clearly she hasn’t had it cut in a while.
For clothes, Cassie tends to prefer light clothing and in the summer you’ll mostly spot her in some kind of pretty dress, skirts or even shorts, though she mostly decks herself in a dress considering it’s her favourite article of clothing to wear. Any other time, in the cold season, you’ll often see her in a skirt but with thick tights and a long button-up coat which reaches down to the middle of her thigh.
PERSONALITY»»»
Cassandra is a determined girl who will never give up on her dreams of becoming a water type pokémon expert, she’s very stubborn when it comes to this dream of hers and refuses to back down. Even if it takes many years for her to reach it, it’s very unlikely that she’ll give up on her goals and she can be rather stubborn at times. She can be a rather emotional and sensitive person, meaning she gets angry, upset or embarrassed very easily, however she dislikes showing this in front of others and often downplays her emotions in front of others, so if she is in front of another person and she gets angry, even though she yells and fights back she isn’t as violent and furious as she would be if she was by herself. She has a bit of trouble showing these emotions in front of people because she was always scolded by her father when she was younger, saying he didn’t want to see her crying or angry because he saw it as a sign of weakness, drilling it into his daughters head that showing such powerful emotions like that in front of others wasn’t a good thing to do. Plus she doesn’t want to upset another person she doesn’t want to sadden if she showed those strong feelings in front of them. If pushed too far though, Cassie can be very aggressive even if another person is there.
Her parents constant arguing and failed marriage also had an effect on her personality and way of thinking when it comes to love. It made her think that all love was doomed to fail in the end and therefore feels like she shouldn’t bother even if she falls for someone, simply because she’s scared she’ll be hurt and left alone like her parents were. Though she has dated in the past they never lasted simply because she didn’t allow herself to fall for them and if she did feel something strong for them, she always left and ran away from the emotions because she was afraid it would only result in her heart becoming beaten and broken in the end.
Blunt at times, mostly when annoyed or frustrated, Cassie isn’t afraid to tell someone what she thinks of the situation or if tell them if they are annoying her. This can often get her into trouble from telling someone something they’d rather not hear, or at least not in a rather blunt tone anyway. She can be rather curious sometimes, mostly when it concerns water pokémon because she wants to learn whatever she can about them and she often scrounges for knowledge on her chosen profession as much as possible whenever she can. When it comes to friends, Cassie can be a rather nice person and loves to go out and have a good time, she’s a loyal person to those she deems a friend however if they betray her trust in anyway, it’s pretty hard for her to regain that trust she once held for you. Towards those she doesn’t like, she can be civil or rather cold and rude, it really depends how she’s feeling at the time.
HISTORY»»»
For as long as she could remember she knew her parents often argued and for just as long she knew she loved the water. Her childhood was filled with her parents getting along terribly and her running down to the beach to escape their arguments; it was during her many trips to the beach that she grew a love for the water, swimming and the types of pokémon which inhabited the mysterious ocean. She hated spending time at home considering she was often dragged into her parents arguing, making her upset, angry and confused about why her parents couldn’t get along, however her father always told her off whenever she started to cry because he thought showing such vulnerability in front of others was just showing you were weak. Therefore the nearby beach was her safe haven, somewhere for her to go when she didn’t want to be at home or with her friends.
When she was eleven years old she enrolled in a professional swimming class and often competed in races, as well as learning other water sports like water polo and synchronised swimming, she also took up surfing when she went to the beach and often spent the warm summer days with her friends going to practice riding on the waves. At the age of thirteen her parents filed for a divorce and her father moved out, leaving Cassandra and her younger sister Felicity with her mother. Despite knowing that they weren’t getting on well, Cassie was still horribly shook up from the ordeal and was very confused, leaving her in a bad sulking mood for a few months before she slowly settled into the new life style. From there she was given more responsibilities since her mother now needed to find herself a full time job and when she wasn’t at school, Cassie cooked dinner for her little sister and cleaned around the house to help out her mother in any way that she could. When she turned sixteen and deemed old enough to work, she started a part time job to help out as her mother wasn’t earning enough money to properly keep them afloat. Even so she still continued with her swimming and her constant visits to the beach, as it was a place for her to relax and think, or spend some needed fun times with her friends.
At the age of seventeen she really felt the urge to leave home and start travelling, ever since she was little she wanted to have a career which involved water pokémon and therefore, decided she would learn everything she could about the type, catch and breed as many as she could and perhaps one day become some kind of professor for the aquatic pokémon or perhaps even a gym leader. However her commitments at home kept her fixed firmly in place until she was eighteen when her little sister got a part time job, her mother got a promotion and then her single parents told her to go out and see the world, saying it was her time to go out and fulfil her own dreams. Knowing she’d feel guilty if she just upped and left, Cassie stayed around for a few more months to help pay a few more bills, leaving her mother and sister some emergency money before packing up and leaving after a teary goodbye to her family.
She’s been travelling for a few months now, turning nineteen on her journey.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE»»»
“Water gun, one more time!” As soon as the command left her lips, Kai jumped into action, springing up onto his little blue feet after he had been smacked down by a tackle to face off against his opponent once more. Cassie watched through narrowed, concentrated eyes as she watched the battle come to its end. Not too long ago a trainer had approached her and asked for a battle, despite not really being a trainer herself Cassie had agreed, after all she wanted her pokémon to get stronger considering she was planning on being a water type expert, even if she wasn’t planning on challenging the gyms right now. Clenching his little claws into a fist, her totodile, Kai, sprayed a stream of water towards the opponent in the form of a Pidgey, his dark eyes narrowed as he fired his water gun in an attempt to smack the annoying bird out of the sky. After all that pesky flying type had been rather strong despite its puny size and Kai had had a bit of trouble to keep the upper hand in the fight.
Biting her lip, Cassie resisted the urge to do a crazy leap in the air and cheer when the blast of water smacked into the flying type, knocking it out of the sky and causing it to thump onto the floor with a dazed look on its face. It’s trainer desperately urged the common bird pokémon to get up but the little creature didn’t budge, looking far too injured and exhausted to fight anymore. A few more seconds passed before the trainer gave in and returned the flying type, congratulating Cassie on her win before rushing off, obviously to find a pokémon centre. The brunette waited until her challenger had disappeared from sight before she let out a victory cheer, pumping her fist into the air in happiness as Kai bounced up and down on his feet, clearly super excited he had been the victor. “Well done Kai, you were amazing!” She cheered, scooping up the little totodile in her arms and spinning him around for a moment while the water type cheered and waved his little hands in happiness.
After celebrating by spinning around, jumping up and down and cheering, Cassie placed down the little crocodile pokémon and grinned at him, clearly pleased at their win. She didn’t need to say that she was proud of him, after all, he could probably read it in the way she was smiling at him and the way her toffee brown eyes sparkled as she pet him gently on his head. The little blue creature beamed in absolute happiness and pride as his trainer gave him praise and affection in the form of her actions, the warmth bubbling in his chest as he let out a happy little cry and resisting the urge to dance about in glee. Whatever he was feeling stirred up within him, causing his happiness to reveal through a bright dazzling light which cloaked his entire little blue body. Stumbling back a few steps, Cassie watched with shock and amazement as her little Kai started to glow and shift in size and appearance, her mouth hanging open like she was about to say something but the words had gotten stuck in her throat. Toffee eyes wide, she watched in amazement as her totodile began his transformation into a new form, taking her completely off guard.
“K-Kai.. You’re evolving into a Croconaw!” She gasped out, clearly stating the obvious as she watching him while holding her breath, a mixture of emotions stirring within her chest as she witnessed the evolution.
