Yumi gave a yawn as she walked out of the pokemon center. She stretched her arms, enjoying the morning sun. It was going to be a nice day today, that much was obvious. It was still too early if you asked her, but she had no choice. She had to meet up with Suichi soon. What could she do to waste some time? The girl had to wonder. Was there much to do this early? Smoothie, her flareon, followed behind the girl as she started to walk.
The trip to the park didn't seem like a bad idea. In fact, it seemed like a really good idea. She had only been there once, but she knew there were trainers always around. If not for a friendly battle, to talk and learn from. The girl thought for a moment. Now she actually hoped that she would run into a co-ordinator. One that could help her, and show her the ropes. She had become curious of contests, yet she didn't know the first thing about them. "What do you think Smoothie? The park?"
"Flare! Flare! Flareon~!" The pokemon replied happily. "I don't think many people are up yet, but a nice walk will do us some good!" Yumi exclaimed, reaching for the second pokeball on the strap around her waist. From it she released a young, pretty much a baby, eevee. "Take a walk with us, Leo." Leo nodded, running ahead once the park came into view. "Ah! Don't go to far!" She called after him, running to catch up. Too bad he disappeared from sight within moments. "Leo! Come back here!" She demanded with a sigh. "Smoothie, help me find him." With a nod, the flareon went off in another direction to search. At this rate... Yumi was considering putting a leash on the eevee until he learned how to stay with her.

It was those blasted baby Glameows that had woken up Tyler. His parents had recently started breeding a Prugly with a few other pokemon, to see how the babies would turn out. Well, now they were old enough that they had to spent time away from Momma, and where did they end up every morning? Every. Single. Morning? Tyler’s room. Usually to get Victor to play with them. They were too young to understand that Victor wasn’t a playful pokemon, so the four were confused every morning when they’d come up to Victor and he’d freak out and run around the room terrified of the evil babies. It wasn’t amusing for Tyler either, who wouldn’t be able to sleep after the babies’ growls and Victor’s screams of terror. Tyler quickly rescued his Leafeon, and took him into his Pokeball. Storm, who usually slept up high just for this reason, wasn’t going to get the easy way today. Tyler got out of bed, and while the baby Glameows were busy looking around Tyler’s room, he picked up Storm from her hiding spot on top of his dresser, and placed her down on the ground. Before she could respond, one of the females, nicknamed Mollie, tacked her down.
Storm was not happy. And thus began the twenty-minute long battle in Tyler’s room. One against four. Storm against Glameows. Only when the noise became loud enough that it really bothered Tyler did he force the babies out of his room. He decided today to go walk down to the Park. He wasn’t leaving for Violet City for another week. Might as well go see if he can get any more helpful tips under his belt before he left. So, he went to go get ready.
When he was done, Tyler was dressed in a pair of baggy jeans with a rip over the knee. A faded black tee covered his body. He wore his Converse, and his anklet was covered by his pants. His ever-present gloves were on his hands. His hair, its usually messy style. Tyler grabbed his drawstring bag of essentials; Pokeballs, a Potion, and his PokeDex. On his belt were two Pokeballs, one for Victor and one for Storm. He walked over to the desk in the corner of his room. In its own little glass incubator was his egg. His final project before his parents let him become a licensed Breeder. A Budew egg. They baby was due to hatch any day now. Tyler debated on brining the egg, but decided against it. He’d be taking the baby everywhere soon enough.
Tyler walked down into the kitchen. He grabbed some toast for his own breakfast. For Victor and Storm he grabbed two small bags of pokemon food and two bowls. They’d be fed at the Park. He left a note telling his parents where he would be and when he expected to arrive back. And with that, he walked into the faint rays of the morning sun.
It was a quick walk from his parent’s Barn to the National Park. Tyler loved it here. Everything was so pristine, so lovely, and there were so many interesting pokemon here. Bug pokemon and Grass pokemon. Two of Tyler’s favorite types. There weren’t any Water pokemon, if at all, here. But the large fountains were perfect for anyone’s Water pokemon to play in. Tyler knew that’s where storm would go if she had the chance. As he passed under the gate to the park, he stopped. “All right, Storm, come on out!”
he said as he took the second Pokeball from his belt. “Piplup!” the little penguin pokemon said as she was let out of her Pokeball. Tyler let Victor out of his Pokeball too, but as soon as he did, Storm was in a tight hug from Tyler. Storm whined about it for a little bit before giving up. Victor was also happy about not only being out of his Pokeball, but not having to deal with the annoying little pest of a Piplup. They got to the fountain pretty quickly. As soon as she heard the water, Storm started to squirm and protest loudly, telling Tyler of her desire to play in the water. “Alright, but don’t go anywhere else. Victor and I will be right behind you,” Tyler told the penguin. She nodded to show she understood and started sprinting towards the fountain. Tyler and Victor had to pick up the pace to keep up with the Piplup. As soon as Storm was in range, she jumped into the fountain with a large splash. Victor knew what was coming. He instantly started to run for cover behind Tyler. He was too late. SPLASH! Storm used her Water Sport attack along with a large splash from her flippers to launch a huge wave of water at Victor. And like usual, she was right on target. Victor was soaking wet now. Tyler didn’t know why Victor didn’t go faster. He had the agility to evade the water. And now that he was wet, Victor wasn’t happy. He showed this easily. Knowing that it would be bad for some of his attacks to miss and hit the fountain, Victor’s head leaf glowed with a rainbow aura. He brought his head forward and quickly down, sending off a Magical Leaf attack. “Leafeon!” he cried out. It was a no-brainer on what would happen, had the leaves hit. Controlled by Victor, they would chase down Storm until they hit. Too bad his concentration was broken by a little Eevee running past. As soon as he heard the paw steps, his concentration was broken. His head leaf lost its magical rainbow aura, and the leaves dropped out of the air. Victor ran to Tyler to hide. Sighing, Tyler dropped everything he was carrying. As the Eevee came closer, he jumped for it, and caught it. Now all he needed to do was wait for the owner to come. Leo ran, and ran. He thought this was a game. His own form of hide and seek with his "mommy'. He knew Flareon would find him before Yumi did, she always did. He was determinded to make this game harder for them. He had to hide, and he saw the perfect place, too. The water fountain! Oh, yes! Smoothie wouldn't be able to get close, nor would she bother to look if he ducked into the water at the right moment. With a grin on his little face, he picked up speed. He slowed down once he saw something in the water. Just what pokemon was that?!
Leo was curious, but then he saw the grass type and got even more excited. What was THAT?He had to get a closer look at the Leafeon. It just looked so neat--So cool! He'd never seen one before, and it peaked his interest more than the Piplup did. Without hesitation, Leo changed directions. Wait... why was he running? Did he want to play tag? That must've been it! Or so the baby figured. Why else would he run, right? He wanted to play. That train of thought made the eevee happy, that's for sure. "Eeeeveeee!" He called after Leafeon, running as fast as he could.
Before he knew it, he was caught. With a yelp of surprise, Leo looked up to the boy with confused eyes. Who was this guy? And why did he stop his game? The poor eevee looked like he was about to cry before... "Eve... Eve! Eeevee!" He yelled loudly, trying to squirm from his arms. He wiggled, and shook his head quickly in his attempt to break free. "Eevee!"
"Have you seen a little eevee run by? He has a red ribbon around his neck?" Yumi asked a woman who was strolling through the park with her persian. The look on her face was hopeful. Maybe... just maybe this lady could at least point her in a direction. "Sorry, I didn't see one. I did see a boy with his leafeon walk in earlier." The woman answered, shaking her head. Yumi pouted. That's not what she wanted to hear! "Oh... thank you anyway!"
Smoothie didn't have much luck as she asked a local bug and grass types that she ran into. Which, only served to make the older pokemon angry. She hated pokemon she didn't know, and she certainly hated when her younger brother ran off. She would normally scare the other pokemon away, but now just wasn't the time. She knew how much Yumi adored the eevee. The cries from the missing pokemon caught her attention without fail. Thus, she went to investigate. "Flare?" She tilted her head to the side. The boy didn't seem like he was hurting the pokemon.
Still... Smoothie didn't know what he was doing exactly. She didn't really like other people either. Jumping from the bushes, she made herself known. "Flareon! Flare!" She huffed angrily and aggressively. The sight of Smoothie calmed the eevee down, just a little. At least he stopped squirming around. "Eevee!"
Yumi sighed through her nose as she walked. Just where could Leo have gone? As a matter of fact, where did Smoothie go? "Today wasn't a good day to come to the park..." She muttered to herself, brushing a few strands of hair from her face. They'd show up soon enough, she figured. Unknown to her, she was closer than she thought she was. Uh, nevermind; she walked right into the area, pulling herself free from the bushes. "Ack! My shirt!" She whined, trying to pull free from what had caught onto the white shirt. "Eve!" The eevee started squirming again, this time more violently, to get free and run to his master (who in her dense ways had yet to realize that her flapping eevee was right in front of her).

Things started to go downhill the moment Tyler grabbed at that Eevee. For one thing, holding onto the squirming baby wasn’t easy. Tyler had to try a few different ideas. None seemed to work. Covering the eyes, talking calmly, just fighting the squirming didn’t seem to work. Everything his parents had taught him on handling and calming pokemon weren’t working. This was a disaster. Tyler was deciding on whether or not to release the Eevee when Victor caught his attention.
“Leaf! Leafeon!” he called out. Tyler didn’t look up at first, being too busy with the little wiggle Wurmple to notice his Leafeon. But when Victor started to get a bit more urgent, did Tyler pin down the Eevee. It helped that the Eevee was calmer all the sudden. Tyler was now able to look up. What he saw confused him. A Flareon was standing there, obviously annoyed or worried about something. But he wasn’t sure as to what. And he didn’t want this Eevee getting away. And where was this Eevee’s trainer anyway? Shouldn’t he or she be close? Tyler wasn’t sure.
Storm was getting angry in the fountain. All the sudden the attention wasn’t on her, it was on this stupid little Eevee. “Piplup! Pip, Pip, Piplup! LUP! Pip, Piplup!” She said, and continued on her little rant, as if to say, “Hey! What’s the idea? Who do you think you are anyway, little Eevee? This is MY show, not yours. MINE!” Tyler for once didn’t even try to shut her up. He knew it was useless anyway. He would just have to wait for the Drama Queen to calm herself down, but he didn’t know how long it would take. Well, he had other fish to fry at the moment. Like these mysterious pokemon. Whose were they? Where was the trainer?
And while Storm was having her diva tantrum, Victor was trying to use the chaos to find a hiding place. He looked around. “Leaf… Leafeon!” he said as he found a nice place under some bushes. It looked comfortable, and he thought that this would be a great hiding place. It would keep him away from that evil little Eevee, and out of Storm’s range of sight. Meaning, she couldn’t get him wet again, his fur was still soaking, even after the few shakes he’d already given his pelt, and she wouldn’t have a target for her ranting. It was basically the perfect win-win for Victor. He laughed silently to himself as he went to his hiding place. He didn’t even feel the need to disguise his walk to his hiding place. Who would take time to look for him going into the bushes, anyway? As he crept under the branches, he turned twice before settling in the leaves and he now watched the drama from under the branches, safe from everything, and everyone.
Tyler was getting fed up with these pokemon appearing. He was just about to let the Eevee go when it started squirming again. Fearing that it was going to do something stupid, he put as much weight as he dared on it, trying his hardest to subdue it. It was Storm this time to alert him of their latest visitor. “Piplup Piplup!” she said. Tyler looked up to see a girl looking back at the forest.
"Ack! My shirt!"
Tyler looked up, still trying his best to keep the Eevee pinned down. “Hey you! You haven’t lost an Eevee and a Flareon, have you?” he called out, hoping he knew the answer; yes. Smoothie huffed again, taking a few steps closer. She kept a watchful eye on the boy as she did. What was he up to? "Flareon..." The pokemon took careful steps towards Leo. Her ears twitched once. Someone was coming, and she was pretty sure she knew who it was. The only issue now was Leo himself, and how wild he had become. "Flare... Flare..." She cooed, helping to calm him down even more. The piplup, however, and its ranting got on her last nerve.
She sent a glare in the water pokemon's way, growling. "Flare! Flare! Flareon! 'Eon!" She shouted in its direction, almost as if telling the piplup to "shut the heck up!", and probably informing her that she was annoying or something. Then again, Smoothie was like Piplup when the attention wasn't on her, and she could understand full well what the penguin was getting at. Still, Smoothie didn't like other attention hoggers either... what a picky pokemon, eh?
Leo was calm now, but of course as stated... the moment he saw Yumi, he flipped out. "Eve! Eve!" He continued to call, yelping louder once more weight was put on him. Just what was this guy trying to do?! Smother him!? The eevee yelled in protest at him, now trying his hardest to somehow reach something he could bite. Almost as if Smoothie read Leo's mind...v"Flare..." She said in warning, causing the baby to droop his ears and stop his attempt. That didn't keep him from squirming.
Yumi was busy still trying to get free when she heard a voice. She didn't turn. 'Oh! Come on you stupid bush! Go buy your own white shirt with lacey ends!' She yelled mentally at the bush. "Well... I lost an eevee with a red ribbon around his neck. He's only a baby, you see, and hatched about a week ago." She replied, still tugging, "I didn't lose a Flareon. Smoothie's just helping me look for Leo." She finished. It took her a few more moments to process what she was answering to. How did he know what she was looking for?
She gave one final tug, and fell onto her back from the force. Finally! She was free! "How do you know what I'm looking for?" She asked, finally tilted her head back more against the ground. "Ah! You found him!"

"Ah! You found him!"
Tyler sighed. He let up on the Eevee. “I was hoping he’d be yours. I dunno what I would’ve done if you hadn’t claimed him. Hyperactive little fellow isn’t he?” Tyler paused for a minute in his speech to get up. He took a step toward the female. “My name’s Tyler Knight. I’m a coordinator-curious breeder. Nice to meet you.” he said. He stuck out his hand for the girl to take. He looked back. “That little diva in the fountain,” he said, pointed toward Storm, “is my Piplup, Storm. I have a Leafeon named Victor somewhere. I think he’s hiding from Storm. He’s a pretty shy little guy. Storm’s usually trying to pick on him,” he said with a stifled laugh. Storm picked up that someone was talking about her, and she leaped from the fountain. “Piplup? Piplup, Piplup?” she asked. Basically, she wanted to know who was talking about her and why. Hopefully it was good. Storm liked it when people talked good about her. It was stupid when they talked bad to her. Really, was there anything bad about Storm anyway? She couldn’t think of anything, at least. Tyler smiled as the penguin pokemon came over. He picked her up, and instantly put her back down again. He’d forgotten that even though she was a Water-type, she still had to dry off like the rest of the world. Storm didn’t like the idea of being put back down. She sat down at Tyler’s feet and looked up. She mustered the largest puppy-dog eyes she could until it was impossible for Tyler to resist. He picked her back up. Now, for revenge for putting her down the first time. Storm’s eyes glowed blue for a second before Aqua Veil took effect. Her feathers got a nice coating of water, and left Tyler’s chest soaking wet. “Storm! You little brat!” he yelled as he put her down. Storm wasn’t paying attention, and instead was walking around like she owned the place. Tyler was left fuming. Victor decided that now that Storm had ticked off Tyler, maybe it was time he came out of hiding. His fur was still wet, but it was quickly drying. The wonders of having short fur. He stretched, got up, and practically sprinted towards Tyler and the girl, not seeing her. He almost ran into Tyler, but stopped himself just before impact. “Leafeon? Leaf!” he whined, as if to give pity to Tyler about Storm’s bratty nature. Tyler smiled. “Oh, there you are Victor. I was wondering where you went. And with company out and about. I’m proud.”Victor swallowed. He wasn’t expecting company. He’d hoped that the girl had taken her annoying Eevee and left. But no, he was stuck in the open. He couldn’t slink back to his hiding spot. Well, he could use his second-best spot; behind Tyler. Victor ducked behind Tyler’s legs, hiding his face from the newcomers. Tyler’s response was to peek down at the cowering Victor and give a slight chuckle. His pokemon were so entertaining. The moment Tyler let go, Leo ran for it. "Eve!" He called to her, jumping towards her. Yumi sat up quickly, turning to catch the eevee in her arms. She hugged Leo close to her chest, rubbing her cheek against his head as she stood. "Yeah, he can be." She replied, before holding the eevee at arms length. "Bad Leo! Bad! You need to stop running off on your own! Especially since you have no battling experience!" She lectured, before sitting him down on the ground.
Yumi took a hold of his hand, shaking it before letting it go. "Thank you for keeping Leo in one spot." She said, truely grateful. Who knew where else it would've run off to. "Yumi Kururugi here! I'm just your average trainer. You know, challenging gyms, and what not. Though... I have been meaning to look into contests... they're interesting. I've only seen one though." She muttered the last part with a sweatdrop, rubbing the back of her head. She'd only seen one because her twin brother had been it. Though he didn't win, he still did pretty well for his first contest. It was a contest she had allowed him to borrow Smoothie, so she could match up well with his Vaporeon. Though she said she went around challenging gyms, she had one badge... from the Kanto region. She had been about twelve, and didn't walk into a gym since then. She waved her fire type pokemon over. "The flareon is Smoothie." She bend down to pick it up, cuddling her to her chest next. "We've been together since the day she hatched as an eevee. I was nine." "Flare..." Smoothie cooed in contentment as Yumi's mind wandered away from their conversation for just a moment. Ten years they'd been together... ten long years.
Her eyes darted over towards the Piplup. Storm, huh? That was a cute name. Her eyes lit up upon the sight of it. It was so cute! She'd never seen a piplup before. They weren't native to Johto, that much she knew. She reached for the pokedex in her pocket, using the small camera to catch its image. "Piplup, the penguin pokemon. Because it is very proud, it hates accepting food from people." After that, Yumi didn't hear a thing from the pokedex. She was too busy watching the piplup.
Yumi giggled at the interaction between Tyler and Storm. It was funny, but she did feel just a little sorry for his wet shirt. Then again, it was pretty warm out, so he should be fine... or so her train of thought went. She had to resist the urge to chase after Storm, pick her up, and cuddle her! Wet or not, she was too cute! Yumi had a weakness for cute things (which would explain why Leo normally got away with just about anything).
She smiled at the Leafeon, putting Smoothie down, and crouching down after stuffing her pokedex into her backpocket. Though Leafeon wasn't native to Johto either, her older sister, Sara, had gone to Shinnoh just to evolve her eevee into one. Though Sara and Yumi didn't get along too well, the Leafeon liked her just fine. "Look at that, Leo. One of your evolutions." She commented, patting Leo on the head. Smoothie watched the Leafeon, narrowing her eyes in his direction. How DARE he catch her trainer's interest! That attention was hers! Hers! She didn't care if Tyler got the attention, he was a person, sure... but other pokemon besides her little brother Leo were out of the question!
"Hi there, Victor." Yumi said softly, holding the palm of her hand out. She really wanted to pet it (or rather, cuddle him to death). "Eevee!" Leo piped up, almost as if trying to encourage the shy leafeon. "Flare." Smoothie huffed, turning her head to the side.

Tyler watched as the girl lectured her Eevee. He smiled. He couldn’t help it. Memories poured behind his eyes. He never had the problem with his Eevee. Even as an Eevee, Victor never had the “run away” attitude. Instead, he stuck close to Tyler. All the time. He never had to look far for Victor. He was usually stuck right next to Tyler’s heels. Now, Storm was a totally different story. She was the trouble maker. She was the one who always ran away. Tyler wondered if the reason that his two pokemon were always at odds because he would have Victor find and bring Storm back every time she ran away. He mentally shrugged. It was probably because Victor was an easy target for Storm. His memories were interrupted when the girl spoke.
"Thank you for keeping Leo in one spot."
He smiled. “You’re welcome. It wasn’t any problem.”"Yumi Kururugi here! I'm just your average trainer. You know, challenging gyms, and what not. Though... I have been meaning to look into contests... they're interesting. I've only seen one though.” Tyler nodded. The smile on his face grew, if that was even possible. “Pleasure to meet you. Really,” he said. He paused for a minute, his eyes looking just past Yumi’s face. He looked back at her, his smile returning to his face. “Well, it seems we have the same interests. Have you thought about how you’d fare in a Contest? Maybe I could help you with an Appeal Round? They’re really fun to do. Victor has a routine already planned out for our first Contest. We’re always practicing. Storm’s appeal is also starting to come around.” he said. Storm perked up at the mention of her name. She was starting to like this girl. Her name kept coming up in conversation. All the attention was really nice. Ah, this was a good day for little Storm. Storm stuck out her chest and started to prance around. "We've been together since the day she hatched as an Eevee. I was nine." Tyler nodded. “I got Victor as an egg from my parents when I was fourteen. He was my first breeding experience,” he said. Victor perked up, only to shrink back. Unlike Storm, he didn’t like attention at all. The fact hat his name came up in conversation wasn’t a good thing for him. As Storm kept her prancing up and down the fountain water, Victor tried his hardest to hide from everyone’s glace. Storm looked up from her prancing to look at the group. She saw Victor shirking. She laughed. Ha! How silly he was. He should be happy they’re talking about him. She was starting to become sad. They weren’t talking about HER anymore! Why weren’t they talking about her anymore? They would have so many things to talk about! How soft her feathers are, now clear her Water Sport and Aqua Veil are, how adorable she is… oh yes, there were many, many things to talk about when the subject is Storm the Piplup. She sighed. Oh well, at least she could talk about herself. Yes, she should do that. "Hi there, Victor." Victor recoiled from Yumi’s hand. He didn’t know what to do! He knew that Yumi wanted to touch him, but should he let her? What if she tried to take him away? Oh no, that would be terrible! He loved Tyler… and Storm. Even though he would never admit it to any living being, he couldn’t help but love Storm, and her pride and the way she always needs attention. Even though her way of getting attention is to harass Victor. Tyler looked down at Victor. He caught his Leafeon’s eye. He nodded, and gave him a smile telling him it was okay. Yumi wouldn’t hurt him. Victor’s eyes betrayed his distrust, but he gulped. He stuck his head toward Yumi’s hand. He felt her hand against his short down-like fur. Tyler smiled. “Good boy, Victor. See, Victor, she won’t hurt you,” he cooed down at Leafeon. Yumi cracked a small smile. She really had to wonder if it wasn't a problem at all. She knew just how hyper Leo could get, and she knew how he would react to being picked up or touched by someone he didn't know. Well, usually he didn't freak out if his trainer was around, but when she wasn't... he was such a wiggly little thing! Seeing as how he had to pin Leo down.... She shrugged, throwing the thoughts into the back of her mind. Everything was fine! And Leo didn't bite him or anything. It was all good.
The girl gave a nervous laugh, scratching her cheek with a sweatdrop comically growing in the back of her head. "Erm... I don't think I'd do that good. I'm not super creative." She replied, giving another nervous laugh. "And all I have is Smoothie. Leo has only been practicing three moves on a doll... 'cuz... that's all he knows..." She finished, leaning her head forward to hang. Her head popped back up, her face excited now. "They look do look fun! Suichi didn't win, but Smoothie was so pretty when she came out of the pokeball... and these... um... sparkly like things came out with her too. It was... um, some capsule thing. And she looked great in a double battle with Vaporeon!" She squealed loudly, her voice high.
"Fourteen? How old are you now?" Yumi asked curiously with a tilt of her head. He did look younger than herself, but she couldn't be sure. Some people just naturally look young, even while they're old... and vise versa. "He looks well raised." She commented happily with a smile. Yumi didn't know many things when it came to breeding--she always let her twin brother take care of that stuff. She could, however, see how healthy Tyler's pokemon looked.
Yumi waited patiently for Victor to stretch out towatds her. Of course she wanted to grab the poor leafeon and hug him, but she didn't want to scare it off either. It was too cute to have it be afraid of her! Even if Storm was cute, too, Yumi was more interested in the eeveelution. She had a love for them that all spwaned with Smoothie's hatching. Eevee's cute, yet big ears were her favorite! Then when they evolved, they changed to match where they were living... and they were still too adorable!
Another smile took its place on Yumi's cheerful face when her hand came in contact with Victor. He soft~<3 "Would you like to be a Leafeon, too, Leo?" The eevee watched Victor for a moment, thinking it over. Yumi had told the eevee that she'd try to meet him to see every evolution and let him choose. Then she'd do what she could to get him to change into the one he wanted once he had enough training as an eevee. If she could... "I'd have toask out how we change you into one though, I have no clue." She kept petting Victors head as she turned to look at Leo.
"Eeevee! Eve! Eevee!" He replied, shaking his head quickly. Sure, leafeon looked cool, but that's not what he wanted. He wasn't sure what he wanted, but he knew he didn't want to be a Leafeon or Flareon. "Oh well..." Yumi sighed. The little one was so indecisive sometimes. "Can I pick you up, Victor? I'll only hold you for so long..." She asked.

Tyler smiled. He remembered his first practice on his Contest appeal round. Victor had been a baby Eevee then, and like little Leo, knew only three moves. It had taken a long time before they could get anywhere. It’d taken a lot of battle practice for the little Normal-type Victor to learn moves they could use in battle. And by then, Storm had come into the picture. Training became so much easier. The two could practice off one another. Then Victor had evolved, and his parents let him use a few TMs on him. Afterwards, Victor had a real chance at going against pokemon in the appeal rounds. He smiled as Yumi talked. He knew exactly what she was talking about, but kept silent until she was done.
“I wouldn’t be surprised. Fire and water can make such beautiful combinations. I wish I had a Fire pokemon to pair up with Storm. She needs to learn the idea of teamwork. And the glitter was probably a capsule. If the pokeball was shades of darker blue, then it had to be a ball capsule. I have a few of my own for Contests.” he said. A sparkle twinkled in his eye. “Hey, would you like to see Victor’s appeal round? It might be good for you to see how other evolutions of Eevee can function in appeal rounds. They can have the same basic moves.” As he was talking, Tyler started to kneel to pet his Leafeon. As he finished, he stood back up.
“Fourteen? How old are you now?”
Tyler smiled. “I’m fifteen now. I’m catching up from the years I lost learning about the secrets of breeding from my folks,” he said. He tried to call Storm over again, but the penguin pokemon was too busy talking about herself to hear. Tyler shrugged, not really worried. Storm tended to do that. She would just go into her own little dream world, and talk or think about herself and the rest of the world was shut off. The only way to really jar her out of her world was to talk about her, and Tyler wasn’t really in the mood to talk about the little pokemon. She was doing enough of that for three people, really. Tyler’s face took on a quizzical expression as Yumi talked to her Eevee while petting Victor. “Are you letting Leo choose what he wants to become?” he asked. He didn’t mean anything by it. He hadn’t exactly forced Victor into his final stage. Actually, Tyler hadn’t really done anything about it. It’d just happened when they were in the Eterna Forest one day. Victor had gone after some pokemon, and when Tyler saw him next, he was glowing and changing into a Leafeon. Tyler hadn’t been sad at all about the evolution. He had a soft spot for Grass and Water pokemon. Especially Grass pokemon. He loved their moves, the way they looked, how they could create beautiful appeal rounds and how they could accent themselves… basically everything that a breeder and co-ordinator would look at. When Yumi asked her question to Victor, he recoiled. Tyler looked down. “Now, Victor. That’s rude. Let her pick you up for a minute, okay?” he told his pokemon. Victor gave Tyler a look that said, “You’re freaking kidding me, right?” and Tyler gave him a stern look in return. Victor was the first to break. “Leaaaf,” he said a tad mournfully as he walked up to Yumi, terror filling his being. He was too shy for his own good. Yumi nodded a few times. The pokeball was a dark blue. "A ball capsule, huh..."She mused, biting down on her lower lip. She started to think, if she could ever pluck up the courage to go on stage... which capsule would be good to use with Smoothie? Hearts? Stars? Her eyes moved back up towards his face once he started talking again. She tilted her head to the side with a smile. "You'd show me? I'd love to see it!"
Wow. He was young. Not that it was bad or anything. "I see, I see." She watched Storm with a small laugh. Even more so when when Tyler's attempts to call the little pokemon resulted in failure. "Really self-absorbed, isn't she?" She commented, smiling. She knew pokemon could be conceited, but she didn't know they could get THAT wrapped up in themselves.
Yumi started to hum as her hand gently ran over the fur on Victor. "See? I'm not going to hurt you." She cooed softly, glancing again at Leo. "Are you sure?" Leo nodded again, moving to sit by her. "Eevee!" He exclaimed. He was sure. He didn't want to be a grass type. Yumi tilted her head up, her attention going back to Tyler. "Hm? Oh, yeah." Her free hand landed on Leo's head. She started to pet his head, and his ears folded back in contentment.
"With so many choices, he should choose... and I don't want to force Leo to be something I want. What if he's not happy because I want him to be an Espeon or Vaporeon?" She started, looking over at Smoothie. The fire type had been sitting there, watching Victor. "I let Smoothie choose. And she seems perfectly happy." "Flareon!" The flareon pipped up happily, confirming it. Yumi sweatdropped at Victor's reaction to her. She sat on her ankles before picking him up, and sitting him in her lap.
"I'm not a bad guy, Victor." She started to pet him again, grinning down at the grass type. Leo stood on his hindlegs, using his front paws to lean aganist Yumi. Just so he could have a closer look at the leafeon... before reaching up a paw and playfully swatting at the leaf on his head.
